Hello, I'll just start by saying that I'm fairly new to modding so if this is a simple fix, I'm sorry. I'm trying to take the regular newsboy cap and flip it to look like this:
I started by creating a "CAS Standalone", choosing the hat, and saving the .package file. I open it up, go to mesh, export the mesh, and bring it into the latest version of Blender. I rotate it and position it how it should be, File>Save As, give it a new name. Back in S4S, I click import mesh, import the newly named .blend file, and nothing happens. For troubleshooting I reopen the new .blend that I just imported, that hat is correct, Save, bring it back into S4S, nothing. Thanks in advance, Aiden

You need to use the "Create 3D Mesh" option instead of "Create CAS Standalone". Create CAS Standalone is just for recolouirng an item so that it has its own catalogue entry instead of being an extra swatch.

S4s also does not support the latest version of Blender, which is why you cannot import the file back. Download 2.76, change Blender path in s4s settings to 2.76’s location, close Blender if it was open, open again, there will be CAS tools

There is no option for "Create 3D Mesh" under CAS, and the "Create 3D Mesh" under object doesn't have any CAS stuff. I'm on a mac if that matters.

By the time Mac version of s4s was introduced, Create CAS stanalone and Create 3d mesh served the same purpose, so do not worry about that.
You cannot open files created in 2.8+ versions in older versions and vise versa. You need to append them. Export the blend file again, open it in 2.76, delete the hat, File - Append - the blend file you made in 2.8+ version - object - the meshgroup you need. Assign a cut number ( 0000) and type to the appended meshgroup, save, import this file in s4s
