Hello everybody. I've noticed that whenever I zoom out a bit, there appear to be some weird shadows that are not supposed to be there (at the edges). Could somebody please explain how do I fix it? It's an edit of okruee's Hermes hairstyle. Here you can find the package and the blend of the edit: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1l42OpGOWJeo3rd5ZyO-bpAX3IkW-GamA

While I can't really spot anything off in your screenshots, the lower LODs don't seem to have been reduced properly. Even in s4s there's lots of strange cuts and gaps. I'd recommend redoing the lower LODs (or reusing L0 for L1 if this is only for personal use), but perhaps someone more versed in hairstyles/CAS stuff will be more help.

Thanks for the response! Maybe you should zoom the second screenshot a bit closer in order to see the stuff. Moreover, there are some red spots appearing in the hairstyle. Now, I think it has to do with the UV mapping, but I haven't edited the UV map so far.

Hi. I can’t check right now, but does the texture have a margin around it? Like, a few pixels of texture around the border of uvs? When you zoom out, the game changes LODs ( level of details )and compresses textures. So you always want to have a few extra pixels around uv borders to make sure that when texture compresses these borders won't become blank. Here's what i mean, in the game it is more pronounce if you're playing on the lowest settings

Here's how the UV looks like.

The issue may also has to do something with shaders, I suppose. Even though I deleted the shadow map from my edit, the EA original (Knitty pack) seems to have fewer shadows on the strands.

Oh, the vertices are probably just merged there. By default the game shades everything as smooth. When you shade the sharp edge as smooth, this dark shadow appears. To tell the game to shade something as sharp, you need to split the edge. Well, ideally you’d want to mark and split them yourself. First, select everything with A and remove doubles. Then switch shading to Solid and you will see the same issue in Blender. Select these edges where the shadow appears and split them (Mesh - Edges - Split edges)

Unfortunately, it didn't help.

And I think I should add that I edited texture a bit - there were red pixels which I removed completely.

I’ve just checked in-game and I do not have this issue at all. It does not appear in Blender as well

That's strange. All my settings are the highest. Can it have something to do with the my graphics card or its settings?

In Blender, the issue doesn't appear too in my system.

I’ve just checked on the highest settings and still no such issue 🤔 I just get the issue related to the missing normal map since I do not have the original
Try to export all textures (in png, only a shadow map in dds) and meshes, then create your own package and import everything there

I've actually done it like ten times and ended up having the same result each time. By the way, what is the issue with the missing normal map? The original doesn't have it.
