What is the maximum number of slots for an item? It seems that once I saw information that maxis limited the number of slots or something like that. But I'm not sure.

It's 180. S4S will show a warning on the relevant tab in Studio view if an item has too many, as well, so if you're adding slots to an object and have forgotten the limit, and accidentally go over it, you'll know.

..does it impact teh game's performance if objects have too many slots?
