Hi, I really don't like the base game bassinet, but i don't like having invisible crib mod either. I know of default replacement for the base game crib, but no one ever made a tutorial on how they make them... I'd like to convert - for personal use- a few cute decor bassinets into defaults (so i could switch between them from time to time), but i don't know where to start. I assume it has to do with tuning, and i know that they can have only four swatches (like the original crib), but if anyone knows more and could help me, i'd be very grateful. If that's too complicated, a recolor of the base game crib would aready be an improvement, so if you know how to do that, i'll take it. Thanks in advance!

Regular default bassinet overrides are not related to tuning. You just need to make two packages using the Override option under Objects on the main menu of S4S. The first one is the deco one you place from build mode, you can find it like any other object. The second one is in debug, this is the one that spawns when no crib is on the lot, and it contains the actual baby. And then you just replace the meshes (don't forget the geostates) and textures like any other object with the deco textures/meshes you wanted.

A geostate is a different version of the object. So an example is the videostation and dj booths, it changes to different geostates as you upgrade it, same for other stuff. The geostates are on the mesh tab, toward the bottom. If you select one it will switch to the new geostate, then you can export that one, edit it to add your crib, then import back in and continue to do that for each geostate so they match the original crib system.
