When I "Add" another string to the mod, I get a new string, but the key is all zeroes. How do I add a new unique key?

Since I'm only adding strings to this one thing which I believe only consists of strings in the first place, do I need to do step 4? They won't be referenced elsewhere, I think?

Yup skip step 4. Though thinking about it I'm actually not sure if adding a new string without editing the other file will work. But if not let me know and I'll go grab it, forgot which one it was.

I'll add a new string that'll be really obvious if it shows up and hope it shows up, then

Damn. I went in and out of things forever trying to get it to show up and it never did. I tried deleting all the default strings but that just makes the default ones show up, as I am not replacing them anymore (I had hoped it would force only my new test one to show up lol)
I guess I won't know if this works until I play for...a month

You will need to override these files as well (use Extract Tuning under Tools) for any new strings: 03B33DDF!00000000!78E209CFD4410E5E.ui.ui_tuning.Tuning.xml 545AC67A!006CA304!78E209CFD4410E5E.ui.ui_tuning.UiTuning.SimData.xml Maaaybe this one as well, there are actually two SimDatas (you can search for this one through the Game File Cruiser under Tools, paste this number, called the instance, and click All to filter): 4AD169DBEC547AEA
In the tuning file go to line 504 or so and copy a line, make a space below the line you copied, paste, fill in the info with your new strings (similar to what the tutorial I linked explained). In the SimData(s) go to line 808 and repeat.
