Hi! I'm improving my moding skills here, so could you please help me to find out how to add storage function to the tent. I have already tried making changes to Object Tuning, but in-game "tent" functions don't work (sim cannot access the tent to sleep, etc, ) but storage (as storage chest dorm) works as expected. Would be very grateful if you could explain me what lines should I use from original Storage Chest Dorm Tuning or whatever is necessary to make tent store things.

I don't think it's possible to make a tent that acts both as a tent and as storage. Is there something in the game already that behaves that way? If so, I'm unaware of it.

I'm 90% sure that if you wanted a tent that acts as a tent and as a storage container you'd need to write a script. That is not something I could help with, however. I'm not sure there's anyone on this forum that can write scripts.

You do not need a script for this, majority of things in S4 do not require a script. You need to combine the tuning of the tent with the dorm chest and make it a custom file, specifically the "inventory" bit nested under the "_components" category. It looks like this, though you do not need the constraints (it will likely cause routing issues or other weirdness). If you look at other storage objects and the TDESCs you will gain an idea of what you need or don't need, unless you're satisfied already with the dorm's setup. <V n="inventory" t="enabled"> <U n="enabled"> <V n="get_put" t="generic"> <U n="generic"> <L n="constraints"> <V t="cone"> <U n="cone"> <T n="angle">90</T> <T n="max_radius">1.5</T> <T n="min_radius">0.5</T> </U> </V> <V t="facing"> <U n="facing"> <T n="inner_radius">0</T> </U> </V> </L> </U> </V> <E n="inventory_type">STORAGE_CHEST_DORM</E> <T n="score_contained_objects_for_autonomy">False</T> <T n="visible">True</T> </U> </V> This tutorial will help with the general concept of editing object tuning and making them custom:

So I'm really new to modding too but i was able to take a custom mesh , extract the tuning into a toy [for you it would be the tent] , then followed this video to turn it also into storage [they have tons of other useful beginner vids], so i was able to not only have the toy's actions but it added storage. there is a problem I've come across with it though ,that I'm currently trying to learn how to fix , the item can only ever be opened on your home lot so if your wanting to just add storage to a tent you'll use on your home lot watching that video could work or the other object tuning video will most def work [as a new modder i find it hard to follow though,] Hope this helps and you find your solution ^-^
