i dont understand blender at all, i have tried watching videoes on how to use blender. I want to chang counter top mesh not texture,when i save mesh from sims 4 studio i can only open mesh in blender. I want to open the mesh in gimp or other free programs like gimp

I don't think you can edit meshes in Gimp. AFAIK gimp is only a 2D image editing program, and meshes are 3D files. There are other free modeling software options out there, but S4S requires blend files (with specific information that can't be appended without blender). So even if you used another modeling option, you'll need to use blender to export the meshes to another program, and then import them back into blender when you're done editing them. From browsing the forums, it looks like lots of creators take that option. (I don't know enough to make suggestions on what other programs to use, but hopefully someone else here can.)

Hi. GIMP is an image editing software. You cannot edit the shape of the 3d model in the image editing software. Please watch the tutorial until the end and try following along with what the author is doing, the same exact thing, not what you have in mind, to understand the ins and outs of the process.
