So I am trying to make my own custom nails and get the UV Map to not overlap clothing so much like the base game nails do; but nothing really seems to work. The best I can do is make it a little less noticeable; but the stripe on some clothing is still there. Is there a way to fix it, or is this going to be an issue until they fix it with a patch? Edit-I meant to say nails not name. I hope this is easier to read now. Sorry for the typo.

They are probably going to patch the nails to have their texture space somewhere else. The issue on the clothes is that some clothing textures are improperly mapped to the texture space and overlap what SHOULD be a blank area.
Moving the nails is significantly easier than checking every piece of clothing ever released and remapping them.

Do you run into this problem with cc clothing or maxis as well? I mean, if its cc, then this is not really maxis problem...

I run into the problem with maxis clothing itself, not just cc clothing. I noticed there is a big blank area in the right corner, I am going to try that for now and see if it worked. I tried using some of the clothing as a base to see how much room there was in the nail space and even that didn't fix the problem completely.
Edit-Even the blank space on the map doesn't work, it is affecting the sleeves on base game jacket it. I will keep trying to find a good solution.

Have you tried changing the sort layer to the biggest number? I can’t check right now but what number do nails have? Above 16000?

It is an issue with maxis clothing. OP is not doing anything wrong. Certain pieces of clothing are improperly mapped and their texture extends beyond where the texture is supposed to go into the space where nail textures now go. It's a small handful of clothing with the issue and it is not an issue OP can solve without remapping the clothing.

I honestly don't know as I am not really an expert with blender and all that; I am just trying to recolor nails and get them to work with outfits in game. The nails in base game clip with a lot of clothing, including base game outfits. Even that little nail space for nails that came with Spa Day didn't solve the problem completely. This is an issue with the game itself; but thought that maybe there was a way that can fix it. It's a bug that has been reported by many people to EA; so we might have to wait until they fix it.

I did not notice the third reply came from a different person and continued to offer suggestions because the person continued to ask for the solution of any kind. The op replied to me to explain why they made a thread about the ts4 issue on the s4s-themed forum.

It's a small handful of clothing with the issue and it is not an issue OP can solve without remapping the clothing It's not clothing improperly mapped, it's an issue with brand new nails that were never meant to be in the game but were patched 7 years later using the same texture space as maxis clothes that were created years prior to the release of these nails.

It's using a texture space those clothes weren't supposed to be using, as they are improperly mapped outside of the space reserved for clothes. See the empty space to the right of the body? That's not where clothes are supposed to be mapped, and it is where the new nail maps go. The nails are not "using the same texture space as clothes". The clothes are using part of the texture space that isn't supposed to be used for anything. You can see very clearly here that space is not meant to be used or displayed on the body, as it is pure black. It's empty parts of the texture space. This is only an issue on SOME clothes because only SOME clothes have their UV map extended too far into that texture space. Some clothes mistakenly used a space they were not supposed to use. The vast majority of them did not. The issue is very clearly with the clothing being improperly mapped, as it's a small handful out of over 1,000 tops/body pieces. Yes, obviously, the nail texture space is in a place already used by some clothes, but the only reason that space is already used by those clothes is because they were made improperly, and did not follow the standards and guidelines 99% of them followed.

Am I invisible or are you guys just gonna keep having this back and forth like I have not twice explained the issue No you're not but there was nothing to really respond with. I already knew the issue as I said it before, I was looking for a solution. I did found a way though. I took one of the long nails from Spa Day that didn't have any clipping, for short nails and just changed the mesh with that and recolor the nails. They are only in cas right now, they won't be painted in game.
