Hi. The screenshots aren't showing up. Upload your screenshot to somewhere like imgur.com, right-click the image and choose "open image in new tab." Copy the URL then click the button with the photograph icon in this message box and enter the URL. Your screenshot will be embedded in your post. Do you have access to Milkshape? You can reorder the groups that way. If you search for "milkshape" in the comments in this tutorial there are some instructions there. You can also look at this and this and hopefully glean something. I don't know very much about this, sorry; all I can do is give general instructions and provide some links to look at. I can tell you that you'll need this CAS map and you'll need to UV map your hair in the hair section. And the normals are flipped. Your mesh is inside-out. It's easier to see flipped normals if you enable backface culling. Press N to open the side panel. Ignore the right side of this screenshot. Now, you can see how your mesh is inside out. Select your mesh, edit mode, press T to open the side panel, press A to select your entire mesh, then press the recalculate button. Edit: forgot to add that if you're making an alpha hair I think you need six mesh groups instead of the normal three. Download an alpha hair from Sims Resource (or somewhere), export the blend, and study how it's put together. That should give you an idea of what you need to do. And take a look at this thread. It may help.

i.imgur.com/f5ckZff.png - here u go! :3 + Thank you very much! I hope the image I linked will help you understand my issues more. Sorry about the first photos not showing up I don't know why that's happening! (I had to reupload this comment btw. I'm not sure on how to reply to people just yet lol.)

I'm not sure where the shine is coming from. Your specular is black but it looks like you made the bump map blank? That's kind of a cheatey way of doing things that I don't recommend. A lot of new people don't want to bother with a bump map because they think it's hard. It's not hard to make and can really improve the quality of your mesh.

Oh my, you have been so very helpful to me. I hope you guys get paid for this! Anyways, I had no idea what a bump map even was until you told me. I'm so happy you did! Adding it as a 'normal' texture in S4S fixed the shine all together. I just need to get rid of the weird shading and reorder the groups somehow. I'll follow your tutorial you linked up there and I'll update if it works.

Hi. The shine is coming from the empty normal map. Never make the normal blank for items that are using the simglass shader. You need to replace it with the "properly" empty normal map. Just export a normal map from any other hair mesh as dds, open the file, sample the background color and flood rgb channel with it. Then switch to the alpha channel and do the same. Also, you have has no uv_1 and vertex paint, it will not morph with the head.

^ This issue is sadly still recurring. Thank you both for your help. The only thing I have left to do is get rid of these blackened shade triangle thingies in the mesh. Somethings making the texture of the hair look matted, but idk what. (Is this happening because of shading or a UV problem? I do not believe that it is a transparency issue as I have already fixed them.) I've been trying to follow that hair transparency tutorial you guys linked me awhile back, but it seems that Moving the groups in Milkshape3d doesn't work. Whenever I use the assign button then move then up and down, no changes occur. No matter which one I select, the same, nothing. (!!also dumb question, but how do I export in Milkshape? XD) Not sure if I should've even imported it as an OBJ, but that's what my research instructed me to do. I don't normally give up but since I've been working on this project for a week now, I might have to abort it. I may just take your advice Mauv, and stop my converting. It seems like no matter how many weeks I spend trying to figure out stuff on my own, it never gets fixed. I love this hair so much and sadly it is very rare to see hairs like that available for download in 2021, so Its a bummer. If anyone has any ideas before I end my converting journey, don't hesitate to let me know!
