Hello again. My first project is technically finished but I run into a requirement problem while testing it with Vampires disabled. The original swatches on all three assets need the pack as requirement but my additional swatches work without. The DLC requirement tool tells me that there are no base game resources. I don't want to make it base game compatible rather the exact opposite! But the mesh seems to work for all of them anyway. I'm confused. The mesh replacement is made via create override, the other two are made via create standalone. Additional swatches were added directly.
The pair version with OG swatch.
The pair version with custom swatch.
The replacement only has the new custom swatches but still shows up with the new mesh.

Hi. Making pack items base game compatible is considered a form of piracy, which is something we are not allowed to help on this forum.

Hi mauvemorn! I think you misunderstood, I probably didn't articulate my problem well enough. The fact is that I don't want to make it base game compatible exactly for the reason that it's wrong. BUT it seems I did something wrong in making my files which somehow make them base game compatible. That's why I need the help to look into it, so the mesh and my additional swatches keep or rather get their Vampires GP requirement. I hope that's clear now. Sorry for the misunderstanding!
I guess from your response though that a standalone is disconnected from its pack's origin, right? How can I make a mesh which is different (like a a pair of this earring) but get the pack requirement?
Link for replacement file
Link for pair version (the file setup for the left single earring is the same)

Hhhmmm, so the checkered pattern appears when the reference resources are missing, right. Your default override replaces the meshes so they are no longer referenced but included. Meshes included but textures aren't so you get the pattern.
The standalone recolor package references the mesh that the first package contains, not the original one from the vampire expansion pack. It has custom textures as well, so no pattern.
I guess there is no way of doing it.

The idea for that came from CC I encountered before which does replace the mesh but doesn't show up without the pack. Right now only a hair edit by saurussims comes to mind but I tested the CC right now and it works fine. Shows up with Get Together and is nowhere to be seen when the pack is disabled. That's exactly what I would like to do (the additional swatches are not important for the moment).

I’m not actually sure if something has changed with how s4s/ts4 works but in the past, when you cloned a pack item, it would not appear in the game of someone who does not have it, regardless of whether the referenced files are included or not, pack requirement is enabled or not. Now it seems that the file will show up regardless of what you clone or what pack rec you enable 🤨

Oooh. So it might be more kind of a 'bug' or rather an unfortunate correction of how things work. Can I still download older versions of S4S?

No and they might not work well with your current version of the game. I will ask the developers in the bug section if this is a bug or a change in the game
