Hi. Okay so I have been using S4S to add search terms to objects I have downloaded and/or created for a few years now. Until recently, I have been very successful and pleased with the results. The method I use is that I add the terms I want the game to search for to the object's name in the catalog tag of S4S. I often use the "|" symbol between the original name and my new search terms so that the search terms do not appear as part of the object's name in my catalog, but I have also completely changed the name or added the terms without the "|" on many occasions, and the method has always worked for me until recently.
In recent months I have encountered some objects that are not being found by searching for the new terms I have added even though I have correctly modified the objects and double checked spelling and syntax. I have also been very careful to clear all relevant caches and files to allow the newly updated objects to update. When I clear caches I delete all files in the sims 4 folder except "config" , "options" and "user settings", all the files in the cache, cachestr, and onlinethumnailcache folders and the resource.cfg file in the mods folder. I do this regularly when I update or add new cc to my game. To be clear the objects are available in game and I can find them in the catalog under their categories or room assignments, but the game does not find them when I search for them using the terms I added to the name in the catalog tag.
So as an example let's say I download a double mattress from randomcreator123. I open the object in S4S and find that the name in the catalog is simply, mattress01. I would then either rename it entirely to randomcreator123 Mattress01| double mattress, or simply modify the existing name to mattress01| randomcreator123 double mattress. Either of these modifications would result in my being able to search for this object by typing either randomcreator123 or double mattress in my search box in game and the object would appear as part of the search result. It would be titled in game as randomcreator123 Mattress01, or just mattress01 accordingly. This has worked for me for literally thousands of objects. However, recently I have come across some objects that are resistant to this method of changing search criteria and when I type in randomcreator123 or double mattress after making the change to the name, the item does not appear as a result of the search. I can still find the objects under bedding, but not by searching for it using the search box.
I need help finding some other way to modify the search criteria for these objects because changing the catalog name is not working for them even though it works for almost all my other downloaded cc. Or perhaps if these objects are different from all the others for some other reason, is there a modification I can make to the object that will make them work like the other objects do? Thanks for your consideration.
