Hey, its me (again lol). I wanted to make a dress with transparent ruffles at the bottom. Everything looked good in blender and s4s until I opened it in game, and the bottom of the dress is weirdly stretched out at the bottom. I've tried retransferring uv_1 and weights but that didnt seem to fix it. Vertex paint is painted correctly with 00ff00 at the top and 3fff00 on skirt part. So I'm really confused on what I did wrong?? The problem seems to be with the ruffles? ( Pictures) blend ( file link) package ( file link)

Hi. You cloned a lingerie set that is not affected by skirt bones and replaced it with the dress that is affected by skirt bones. This is them acting up. Once you adapt the garment (transfer weights,uv_1, vertex paint, make uv_0), check how it behaves in the game. Only then continue with baking, splitting into meshgroups, adding meshgroups in the package, swatches, etc, or you may have to re-do some of these things if something were to be done wrong on the adapting stage. There are other issues: - in md model in quads and keep Particle distance high or retopologize the mesh. Right now it is shaded like cramped paper because of topology; - do not join the body with the garment until the latter is adapted. Weights and uvs do not overwrite right on the body; - there's overlapping geometry in the thigh area; - delete the body covered by clothing more carefully, not only do the remaining pieces take up space but can poke out; - do not scale uvs individually unless the difference in the texture quality is acceptable. You can make buttons/zipper/etc's uvs bigger(can use extra definition) or uvs of the geometry that covers holes smaller(not noticeable), but there should be no difference between patterns of the same garment; - items with simglass shader must not have empty normal maps; - when closing holes, do not just scale the extruded geometry, collapse it with Alt M- Collapse.

Thank you for the response mauvemorn!! I didn’t know that the uvs shouldn’t be scaled individually so thanks for that. I’ve redone the dress and imported it into a dress so the issue didn’t occur anymore. I haven’t made the texture yet but everything’s looking good so far and I’ll update this once I’ve done it.
In the meantime, I have also another question for these decorated nails (ea base mesh) I made to go with the dress. Am I allowed to post that issue in this thread or should I make a new thread for this?? Sorry for the random question but I intended to release the dress and nails together!!

Probably best to make a separate thread so that people with similar issues would have an easier time finding the solution by googling(choose the title that describes the problem)

hi it’s been a few days but I decided to scrap the dress for now! Maybe I will tackle it again another day but I’ll post the nails question soon! Thank you for your help once again mauvemorn
