Hey everybody, I'm a new user here as of a minute ago. I am having a lot of trouble here with the beginning of my CC journey. I realize I probably have an easily fixed problem, but I have a learning disability, and even after a good hour and a half of troubleshooting, I am STUMPED. I do have blender 2.79, which, as far as I know, should work totally fine with S4S. Here's my issue: When I download the mesh from S4S, I try to put it into blender, and oh... Nothing shows up. Like, literally nothing. Not an error message, just a blank, blender file. I tried turning my computer on and off to see if it was a technical problem, but nope. I've watched at least five tutorials and none of them have this issue. So clearly, I'm doing something wrong here. I'm decently tech-savvy, but I am no computer genius. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is preventing files from showing up. Oh, and the best part, I attempted putting a blender file from the newest version (that I know for a fact actually exists and functions) into the old one, and again, nothing. It DOES however put me into the 3D view area. Very strange. Additionally, as I'm typing this, I tried putting it into the new version as well and nothing again. No, it does not show up in the layers either. I wish I knew a solution on my own. I'm embarrassed to be asking since I feel like such a noob, but I literally am. I have worked in digital programs since I was 14. I'm very confused.
Please try to explain with as much detail as possible, as missing details make things very hard to understand for me.
Thanks, Your neighborhood stoopid man, Cat.

Update: I think there may be a problem with my s4s. I'm going to redownload it b/c there is no pycache in my file at all. It looks strange to me. edit to my update: okay....so I think the problem is the fact that im using 2.79, not .70 or .76. Gonna download one of them and see what happens edit: now im getting this error message with 2.70 The Sims 4 Studio - Version 3.1.5.8 System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'E:\Program Files (x86)\BLENDER\2.70\Sims 4 Studio\Blender\Scripts\io_sims.py'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.File.InternalCopy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.File.Copy(String sourceFileName, String destFileName, Boolean overwrite) at S4Studio.Blender.BlenderUtilities.InstallAddon() at S4Studio.ViewModels.ObjectLodItem.<>c__DisplayClass47_0.<ExportMesh>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- ---> (Inner Exception #0) System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'E:\Program Files (x86)\BLENDER\2.70\Sims 4 Studio\Blender\Scripts\io_sims.py'. Hi. Reinstalling s4s generally does not fix anything. There may be two causes of your issue: 1). Incorrect paths in s4s settings. They should look like this, notice the underlined moments: 2). Blender 2.79 cannot be supported by s4s on your pc. The developers dont know why this happens but for some people Blender 2.77-2.79 just dont want to work with s4s. So if this is the case, try 2.76b

Thanks for the advice about 2.76b--i downloaded it, but my issue has not changed despite the path being exactly the same. Not sure why. Let me know if anything looks weird/if I can provide more screenshots/info. Thanks -Cat Additional update: I did clean up my files for blender so it looks a bit more attractive. It goes: E:\Program Files (x86)\BLENDER\blender.exe I keep seeing in other posts "blender foundation" is that a necessity? I just do not get what I'm doing wrong here. trying 2.79 again and will update in a few mins as to the status of the issue. I am in no immediate hurry for help--i know that this is a small group of very kind people helping for free. I am simply keeping tabs on what I'm doing as well as updating whoever stumbles upon this post. update 2: deleted all versions of blender and files to see if that was the issue no difference. same error message, which is so strange to me, bc when I began there was no error message whatsoever i also put the model that functioned in the new version into 2.79 and this time it worked perfectly.

try this close blender and s4s, go to C:\Users\----\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.76\scripts\addons\. If it does not look like in the pic, download this .zip, open "addons" folder inside of it, select 3 folders, and move them into C:\Users\----\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.76\scripts\ addons\ so that it looks like in the pic - then open blender 2.76b again, check if it has s4studio cas tools, save the blend even if you did not change anything, re-import

I noticed this was a similar issue in a different thread. However, I think I need to sort my files around. I'm going to consult someone versed in that and follow back when that's sorted. Thanks a bunch for your help.
