hi there, I'm trying to update sparrows tidy cc mod so it's clear what category a cas part is in, but although I've set the items with a display index of -1E+09 some ea items (with display index 0) still show up before them. is there another setting I'm missing that affects cas sorting order? thanks

I just wanted to note I'm trying to do the same thing and have the exact same issue :( Did anyone ever figure this out? Edit: I've tried display indexes from -99999 to 99999 (starting with -999 and 999 respectively) and nothing changes. There are also items, like blush, where items from some packs show up before others. See the attached picture for an example  Display index for the item in this image is -999, but it remains in the same place regardless of display index used. I noticed though that this swatch shows up before BG but after all expansions. Does expansion pack somehow impact the order? Is there a way to set this value in S4S while keeping the item BGC? |

I have seen multiple posts about the display index not working as expected that go back to 2020, and I think there's even a post from May 2024 that's related to this. Right now I'm also trying to fix Soaring Sparrow's tidyCAS. I want the Acne label to appear at the start of the Acne section, but it's not working no matter what number I use.
For now, I'm working around it by placing the label in the previous category, and giving it a display index that puts it at the very end. So, for my Acne label, I'm placing it at the very end of Right Cheek Mole.
I am with you on how annoying this is, and I wanted to add to the number of people who are interested in a solution. Maybe someone will figure it out and let us know.

Thanks for your reply. yoruqueenofnightsims (sfs files here) managed to get the titles to appear at the beginning of categories in the Skin Details section, but they also say a known issue is "Does not show up before EA pack items in left brow ring, left arm scar, left wrist , left index finger, tattoo left lower arm." [Edit: it appears that they did the same thing that I previously suggested and just put Cheek Mole Right at the very end of Cheek Mole Left and so forth, so the problem is still there] Sparrow's TidyCAS organizers (sfs files here) have this issue where in categories such as Freckles, the title package does not show up at the start; Growing Together Freckles precede them, even if you edit one of the unmerged packages so that the display index is -9999999999. I also tried making my own Skin Detail labels, but I had the same problem. I checked the game packages for the first item in a few categories and they're all set to a Display Index of 0. I wonder what the system sorts with if the items are all the same Display Index. |
