Hi.
I found a male shirt with a necklace attached to it, but I would like to only keep the necklace as an accessory and remove the shirt.
Since I have never done such a thing, could someone please be so kind and explain to me how to correctly separate a necklace from a shirt and turn it into an accessory? I have searched for a tutorial but unfortunately have not found anything helpful. I use Blender 7.6 - Thanks!

hi S4Player you need to export the shirt mesh with the necklace you want to convert into an accessory and then remove the shirt parts in blender. to select only the shirt parts you can either select the shirt faces and pressing L to get the majoritiy of the shirt mesh and then individually select any faces of the shirt that didn't get selected, or you can sync to uv0 selection with the 3d viewport selection and select the shirt faces on the uv0 map. then just delete the selected faces and you should be laft with only the necklace parts of the mesh. it's possible that there will be missing faces at the underside of the necklace so you will need to fill those in by selecting the vertices you want to be connected with a face and then pressing f to fill in a face between them. if you need to add new faces, you will need to position these in an appropriate spot on the uv0 and uv1 map. don't forget to turn any new quad faces you added into tris. so now you have separated the necklace from the shirt but you still need to create a new package to add it to your game. for this you can clone a similar necklace from the game. from then on you should be able to follow this tutorial. however necklace weights and uv1 can be very finnicky so you might run into some problems with that i hope this helps you getting started

i would say you've made a lot of progress so far, it looks like the weights came out fine. to fix the uv0 issue you are having, you need to reposition the necklaces uv's on the uv0 map in blender. you can find a guide on where the appropriate spots for different pieces of cc are here. you can use the necklace you used to import the separated necklace as a guide as well. After you have adjusted the uv of the mesh in blender you need to move the texture into the correct place with gimp or photoshop etc. for more help with accessory creation you can have a look at this thread. at the end of the post, orangemittens explains how to rearrange the uv0 map in blender. this should fix the texture overlapping on the torso.

thanks for the explanation. Yes I made some progress but stuck, as I said. I already figured that the texture pieces have to be rearranged, although I have tried moving the textures already but did not succeed. This project sure gives me a headache lol. I have seen many people do that like separating scarfs and necklaces from clothes, but never seen anyone explain how they did it. I really thought it would be easier. I also can't figure out how to adjust parts of the necklace like on one side only. Because now that the shirt is gone the necklace is too far away from the body on one side. I looked at some Blender videos, but no one really explains how, what and where to click to change the shape and move it around. I know how to make the whole necklace smaller or larger and move it closer to the body, but reforming just on one side like pull, drag etc. nobody explains. At least I did not find anything helpful done with Blender 7.6. I guess I will give it another try and check out the links you've provided. Again, thanks for trying to help. It's really appreciated

if you want to move only parts of a mesh you can turn on proportional editing

nougatpocket, a bit late but I solved the necklace problem with the help of a video showing step by step how to move the mesh to another texture space. I was also able to move just parts of the mesh with proportional editing. So thanks for participating
