Im trying to separate just this bow piece and I cant get rid of the head and bottom meshes from the original top and Im feeling kinda clueless. Is there a way to get rid of them so I can just have the bow part?

You have to unhide the "rig" and make it editable with the toggle icons (arrow and eye), to the right of the mesh, and then use the + icon to look for whichever part you want to remove.
You can also right-click the rig and delete. This makes all the mesh bodyparts show up as single mesh groups, which you can right-click and delete.

Hi. If you just want to hide everything other than the bow to take a pic, you can hide or delete. If you intend on importing the blend in s4s, do not delete the rig and you do not need to hide the body parts under it, they are not imported

There's a lot of reasons why you'd want to remove the rig/sim - but if you want to just separate out the bow for use in a different project, and not have a ton of extra stuff in the file, this is one of the ways. I mostly do it when I'm exporting to a different program, because the mesh parts in the rig doesn't hide there, and can occasionally be more of a hassle to get rid of.
If you're just working with Blender, you can import the bow into a different file from this one without having to delete the rig, for instance if you're making an accessory or some such. There's an "append" function, where you can select just the parts you want to add in.
