sweetsorrowsims : Thanks for your answer. In the meantime I figured it out myself. In the end I just Googled and found a post somewhere on this forum (LOL). It's very similar to appending objects when making poses in the Sims 3. But I kind of forgot after 3 years or so not being able to play The Sims. But my pose came out nicely. As for the fingers and other limbs. It feels different than making poses for Sims 3. Perhaps because of a different skeleton (or rig) I'm not sure. But I'm learning 'to deal' with it. I will try to post a pic here to show one pose of the pack I'm working on. edit: Posting a pic (I have it on Photobucket) doesn't work. I guess I'm doing something wrong here)

Well, exporting a mesh was a lucky guess, not knowing exactly what I was doing. I managed once, but not anymore. After one hour of trying to export a bed so I can append the file in Blender I give up. I'm in urgent need of help here. Can someone write a tutorial how to import an object in Blender? With screenshots please. You would make my day! (one a serie of poses sofar)

FranniezSimsall you need to do is export the object in studio and in blender with your pose open append desired object>object> click all meshes.

@ Sweetsorrowsims: Thanks. Today I was taking pics to point out what I was doing and to figure out were I went wrong. But to my surprise it worked. Don't ask me what went wrong yesterday, I've no clue. Anyway: problem solved. (and as a bonus I can use the screens for a mini tutorial) Out of frustration I tried Kijiko's Pose Helper. Not easy to use - you can easily screw up - but wonderfull for animation makers. I can recommend it. Link here: kijiko-catfood.com/pose-helper-for-sims-4-studio/This is what I made: and so it looks in game: So Happy.

I've been going over multiple tutorials on this site and I feel like I'm missing something. Whenever I export a file from Sims4Studio into a .blend file and open it in Blender. The file is blank and there's nothing to model at all.

swsu try using another version of Blender (2.76) with the latest version of Studio. You can have another version of Blender in a separate folder.

The file is blank and there's nothing to model at all. Hello! I don't know why it does this (it's happened to me once), but if you delete that file and export a new one, it will work. I use the version 2.70 and it's only done that to me once. I went back into my package file and exported a new mesh. It worked after that. If it's happening to you over an over, I'd suggest reinstalling both programs.

Hello. I have created many different poses, but I can't seem to get the custom icons to work. Do they HAVE to be 64x64, or will a square of any dimension do? I have 5 pose packs, all with custom icons, and only a couple of random icons work. I used the Windows 10 "Photo" program to crop my photos into perfect squares, but most of them aren't visible. Some icons show a donkey and some show the S4S icon. I really don't want to have to get them all to a 64x64 dimension, because that means I would have to zoom out pretty far in the game before taking them (so I can show what needs to be shown). So, must they be of such a small dimension? Or, if not, why aren't my current icons working?

@rosalisims the custom thumbnails for pose packs needs to be 64X64. I was just hoping it wasn't so. It there an easy way to get that thumbnail size, without cropping the image to make it smaller (and instead simply shrinking it down)? I'd hate to have to go back into my game and take screenshots of everything again. I'd just like to use the images that I have, but cropping them would mean that only a bit of an arm or something can be shown.

you can still use the pictures you have just make sure it is an equal n umber say 600X600 or whatever and then shrink it to 64X64.

Okay, thanks anyway. I found a way that works. I can shrink it with Paint.

So a few things. Thank you for making poses available for mac users of S4S. I am having a little trouble. Usually i made my poses with the latest version of blender and send it to my friend via email to make them into a package file. With Appletini for some reason the program doesn't respond to the latest version of blender so I went onto blender and downloaded version 2.70 and the same messages still keep coming up. What version of blender do I need for Appletini to respond to the blender files? I also clicked on the message that directs you to download blender and a 404 - not found message comes up on my browser Thank you Mel

Hi mellouwsim, another person had a similar issue and resolved it. This was what they said they did:
"I ended up having to just uninstall s4studios AND blender completely off my computer. then first installed s4studios, then blender 2.78, and I dragged the blender.app into the applications folder."
Give that a try and see how it goes. Also, Appletini 1.1.0.3 should work with Blender 2.78.
