Hi. The problem lies in the fact that those hat chops are not imported in the package. The reason for it is the fact that they are hidden.
For the exception of buzzcuts and similar hairstyles, maxis hair already comes with 3 meshgroups, so there is no need to add anything.
- open the blend, make hat chops visible, save; - clone any maxis hair of similar lengths, import the blend there. Do not re-use this blend where you added new meshgroups

Do not re-use this blend where you added new meshgroups I did exactly that and it worked, I'm so terribly sorry for my posts deleting, i have a very old phone and it froze while i was checking, usually i have to keep touching the screen to get it to work again and it usually registers all my taps and yeah (i do have a new one, don't worry it won't happen again, but it is dead so i used back-up while my computer loaded up) For anyone looking back i was making a hat chop mesh edit on trix's old Waves hair and it was not working, i imported it and it was not showing up, i tried to make new mesh groups and it also failed miserably, mauvemorn explained the issue i had and it worked perfectly thank you so much. im so sorry the thread got all messed up cause of my stupid phone and im sorry if i caused any hassle with my simple mistake, all in all im so glad i didn't screw up royally on my first mesh edit. This has definitely helped me in making my own in the future if my lil adhd brain can remember

Luckily for us my new phone has actually not refreshed the webpage and here are the previous posts for anyone with the same issue Original: I'm going to start this off by saying that this is my first hair mesh edit and I've been learning everything about Hair mods i can and have been catching on great, everything has gone smoothly except for this. Usually i make personal tattoos/skin details/simple CAS backgrounds. This is also my first time posting to a forum of any sort. So i found an old mesh from Trixsims in an archive and I've been dying to use it with one of my sims since it is the perfect mesh for his curly hair, however, it lacked hat compatibility that's needed for his outfits. I learned how to edit it so it was hat compatible pretty fast, I can proudly say it took me only two hours to learn this new method in Blender and do it successfully. I made a copy of the .package file to use as the base and i uploaded the new mesh with the edits and with some patience it loaded and looked fine. I open up sims to switch his hair from his current to the new hairstyle and once i do it shows nothing changed. The hair still clips through the hat and doesn't go away no matter the hats I switch between (i thought it was the Hat cc i was using for a moment). I have labeled all files in blender properly, the GEOM labels in blender (0000, 0001, 0002) are all there and proper as I've checked several times and I've followed the hat compatibility tutorial from SimpleSimmer down to reading it over and over again. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I even tried creating a new .package file and entering the edited mesh there. I'm sure I'm missing steps as this is more complicated than what I usually do and I've tried looking up solutions and I found nothing that relates to my issue. I'm sorry if the solution is painfully obvious, this is new to me. Here are all of the files, The duplicate .package, Original .package, Edited .blend, Original .blend, and New .package(just added, forgot to add)Update post: update: I've tried making the new geometries/meshgroups for it in sims studio after more digging on tutorials i haven't read, yet it seems to not work for me still, it still shows as the normal hair in the 3d preview even after re-importing the mesh. I followed This Tutorial with the understanding that the mesh isn't transparent so I don't need to make it such and i even made it a hairhat region type [based on a short tutorial explaining them Here], yet no change. I still have no idea whats going wrong. Update two: I managed to make new meshgroups, but now it looks like this, i've been working on it for so long i think i'll stop for today. If anyone can help, that'd be appreciated, if you want the updated .package file i'll share in the morning tomorrow
