Am I forced to control sims that aren’t my main character, or can I expect them to get by mostly fine without intervention? Are DLCs basically a forced buy to get a decent experience? I’ve 590 in my account and this game is gonna set me back 479, and I’m not likely to be able to get DLCs for a long while appvalley tutuapp tweakbox. I see some mods that change up gameplay a little bit, even mechanically. Are there any that completely change how the game works? I know that controlling your humans is half the game, but on the off chance that I want to treat this like DreamHouse Days, is there any way to have the people go about their regular lives and I just do the house stuff? Would be good for the kids who want to design but don’t want to deal with actually micromanaging some/everyone under the roof.

You might be able to get some mods that improve sim autonomy if you don't like the default behavior. Wait for sales to buy DLC, I find the bundles to be the best value.
