TLDR Solution - follow the instructions here:
sims4studio.com/thread/27924/blender?page=1&scrollTo=175238
If you're having trouble getting the "Sims 4 Studio Blender Tools" addon to work in blender and are getting the error "Import Error: No module named 's4studio' " showing up, this is what worked for me after much troubleshooting, hair pulling and forum scrolling:
Full error code:
Installation
1. Download blender 2.76
2. Install blender and then S4S to their DEFAULT directories (meaning simply install the programs and do not customize their folder locations)
3. Open S4S and check that the blender install directory is C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\blender.exe (this should be the correct location for blender if you installed it to its default location) and then click 'save'
Troubleshooting
1.Note - I opened blender as Administrator when this worked, don't know if this played a role
2. Make sure that S4S file location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio) is whitelisted by your antivirus
3. To check if the Sims 4 Studio Blender Tools working, open blender and import a mesh that you've exported from S4S. This is important. I followed this tutorial from 3:40 -
4. If the S4tudio CAS doesn't show (as per 6:43 of the above YouTube tutorial), then go to File > User Preferences > Add-ons > and search for "studio" - if there is nothing there, then select 'Install from file" and select the "io_sims.py" file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio\Blender\Scripts
5. Click "Save user preferences"
What to do if still getting the Import Error: No module named 's4studio'
1.Check: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.76\scripts\addons\s4studio
>>> 2. If that file doesn't exist, then you can add it manually here: drive.google.com/file/d/1MxUkPOwTIp2juUqrDzB3n0B7DZxuUZvQ/view <<<
