Hi. I don’t know how things work on PS4 but on computers you can start in-game challenges (at the Home Screen choose Scenario ) You can also try the type of challenges that uses come up with ( like 100 children or something like this). Again, don’t know if it is possible on PS4 but on computers you can install mods that introduce new things to the game (Road to fame, for example)

one thing i do is always have one bad or negative trait with each of my sims. it adds some depth to them. it doesn't have to be mean or evil, but maybe just something you would find undesirable if you were making a perfect sim, or something that makes their lives harder. currently, i'm really enjoying the paranoid trait from the strangerville pack as a negative for one of my sims, so much so that i'm making a trait mod for something that has paranoia as a symptom. some of the negative traits are really fun to play with. i'd recommend finding negative trait mods to try out too.
i also second scenarios and challenges. you don't even have to follow the rules of fan-made challenges. you can make your own challenge for your own game, nothing has to be official unless you want it to be. my current challenge is to reach the maximum amount of bells with as many generations as it takes, and sometimes with this legacy i also decide to throw in other challenges because getting to 9,999,999 bells is a slow process lol. the negative traits pose different challenges on their own; keeping a hot-headed sim alive can be difficult sometimes.
