So, I wanted to convert this object (the one on the left) from a TS3 CC creator from way back in the day: But when I put it in my game, it looks like this (no light): I'm stumped here. I cloned this from a light with a glass case, so there are three meshes. The top layer is the third mesh, the rest of it, including the lights the second, similar to the original object. I did try cloning it from another light, where I had no transparency, but it did light up. But I'm really wanting it to look like the original creator made it - lit with transparency. Truth be told, I'm clueless on the whole alpha thing. I followed Fwecka's post from here. I may have done that (the alpha layer in PS part) completely wrong. But even if that was wrong, why is the object not even lighting up? D: I have never tried anything like this so I am lost.

Bumping this in hopes of getting an answer. It's been a couple of days.

It might not be possible to get it to light up/look the same since the games use very different graphical approaches

But I don't think that's correct, I do think it's possible. I just went into the game now and went through the lights I have (both official and CC) and there are a number of items that definitely seem to have the effect of lit up lights behind transparent surfaces:

Hi. There's a tutorial here that's for making lamps. Not sure if you've seen it or not. It's for an older version of Blender, however. I haven't tried making a lamp using newer versions of Blender but the concept would be the same even if Blender's interface is different in newer versions. You'll need to clone a lamp that has glass parts. Since your lamp sits on the floor clone a floor lamp. If you want it to be able to sit on a table or the floor clone a table lamp. The glass part of your mesh needs to have the same cut number as the glass part of the EA lamp you're using for your package. The glass part, of course, needs the phong alpha shader. The part that you want to light up needs the phong shader and needs to be vertex painted (phong alpha won't display vertex paint the last time I checked). The non-glass parts of the lamp (the parts that light up) need the same cut number as the non-glass part of the EA mesh. I checked Blender 3.3 and the settings for the brush are on the right side--the icon looks like a wrench and screwdriver--instead of in the side panel as the tutorial shows in step 8. I'm not sure if the tutorial mentions this but you need to be in vertex select mode to apply vertex paint. At least this is the case for Blender 3.3. Incidentally, the mesh has some problems. There are disconnected faces in some areas that will show up as sharp edges in the mesh; it's because there are holes in the UV islands and Blender is splitting the mesh where the holes are. The only way to fix this is to edit the UV islands so that the holes are gone. You may have to mark seams and re-unwrap the mesh. There is also a lot of clipping. The mesh isn't very well made, I'm afraid.

The lights in your other screenshot are singular point lights for each lamp. I don't know how the game handles the neon objects but if you find a custom neon lights tutorial that works, that might be the way to go.
