My questions about Sims 4: Get to work

My major complaint is that in Sims 4 Get famous, doing the actor career, once you finish the shoot, you are DONE the day is over and you go home, in GTW(get to work) i basically spam "Gossip about co workers" or "Get to know" or whatever simple stuff their is to get a Fantastic Day, i mean sure.. the game is MENT for you to join them at work but im in the scientist one and honestly is it better to just have my breakthroughs and just send them alone? i can do all the tasks and get Fantastic but half the time im sitting their for another sim hour of free time, doing...squat i love how GF dose it and once you finish the shoot the work day is wrapped up, why do i need to sit their at max Work performance bar and if i want to leave early after doing all my tasks ill be punished for it.. so what im asking is, is it better to just Send them alone after getting their Promote tasks done or no?, also how do i get abducted, ive never been abducted once, well.. scratch that i have ages ago but i didn't get probed, i heard their are aliens walking among the sim world.. WHERE? i had an event in strangeville called "Alien night at the bar" but thats not legit, like ive never noticed aliens walking among me unless i go to the planet or force them to Abduct, its like i never see any aliens unless i actually go hunt and force them to do something
