Hey everyone, I have been lurking here since launch and seeing lots of good things, but for those of you that are actually playing the game do you like it? Do you think its worth the cost? I got bit on sim city and have been very hesitant on getting sims 4 and would like your honest opinion.
I have played sims since sims 1 and liked them all for their own reasons. I like to play my games sort of realistic and the whole weirder stories thing kind of put me off on the game a bit. I mean dieing from laughter really?
Anyway would appreciate your opinions on it, thanks!

It's not bad, but it's not like the previous incarnations. From what I can tell, most people who've played the others find Sims 4 a bit lackluster comparatively. Personally, I like sims 4, it can get a bit stale at times, but I don't play traditional ways and the next xpac may change things as it's adding a bit more gameplay that seems closer to it's older siblings.
With mods, you can do a lot of QoL stuff and I don't recall if there is or not, but there should be some way to turn off some of the zany deaths. Either by way of settings or mods. I have everything and I can only suggest that if you do buy something. Get only the things that interest you and remember that it will not be like the previous sims games. Nothing is quite like your first time with anything.

Also if you're getting into CC, make sure that the CC is either base game compatible or that you have the pack that it is compatible with. With Sims 4 you have to sort of make your own fun, via the scenarios or googling gameplay challenges or writing stories.
