hi all! for some reason a small part of my mesh is floating around in cas ( screenshot here) i've been bouncing around different threads looking for a solution but i haven't been able to find anything to fix it. i tried retransferring the weights but that didn't help and i just can't seem to figure it out. i'm sure it's something small i'm missing but so far i've had no luck. blender file here
thanks in advance!!

Hi. That part of the mesh is not adapted to function as intended. You need to separate it and transfer weights, uv_1 and vertex paint

Hi. That part of the mesh is not adapted to function as intended. You need to separate it and transfer weights, uv_1 and vertex paint thank you so much for your help! i've separated it and done all of those and the mesh connects. however, it's got this weird glitch in cas where the infant is both sitting and standing ( here) i feel like it's a vertex paint issue. are the legs and hands supposed to have it as well or just the clothing mesh alone? here is the updated blender file.

hi again! i still haven't completely figured out the issue despite my best efforts in playing around with blender. this is where i'm at: link here if the image doesn't loadi've tried retransferring weights and vertices as well as frankenmesh-ing the hands on from the original mesh. if anyone has any ideas they'd be greatly appreciated

Sorry for the wait, in the future if the thread receives no reply, feel free to bump it, its easy to loose them among others. Anyway, in the shared blend you seem to have transferred weights from the wrong mesh. Basically the whole mesh is affected by weights the way the accessory should be, so now you have to delete all the weights and re-transfer them Also, in uv_1 that accessory is unwrapped in the wrong location
you need to unhide the body in s4studio_mesh_1.
Also, when you create a new texture to bake ao, you should make it transparent instead of black
