I am having an issue when texturing my hairs! I can't find any threads answering my specific issue so sorry in advance if this has been answered. Every time I make a hair there are sections of it that when I texture it looks very blocky or misplaced even though I am texturing on uv_0 and everything is within the hair texture. link to my blender file and snaps of specific problem areas I couldn't figure out how to share my files straight to here...sorry

Hey, your uv_0 is really chaotic, you need to unwrap your hair better to achieve better results, take a look how ea made uv_0 of similar hair and try to follow. Now where you have round texture parts on your 3d mesh you have random squares on uv_0, it's not going to work. Your uv should nicely follow texture from one face to another, now you have one face at the texture bottom, other at the top and they just do not create seamless joins cause they use different textture parts

okay thank you! Is there a specific option I should choose instead of follow active quads then? I triangulated my mesh and unwrapped it as a sphere it looks better but I am not sure how to create a round map like Eas has. every time I try to delete doubles the texture just completely goes wrong. I only am having troubles with the big afro part. not the braid and the little bead. I added my triangulated file to the folder. I dont understand what I should press or anything trianglesmeshhere

I am not hair creator so hard to tell for me how to do it properly, but I think you should mark some seams and then unwrap it using just unwrap option till you get desired uv look. Watch some tutorials about unwraping, they do not have to be for sims, to learn process and how to divide your mesh to get nice uv maps. Also you can open some cc afros and take a look how other creators unwrapped them or ask them for advice
