Hey! I downloaded Sims4Studio for the first time last week and have been using it to recolor a few CC hairs, but when I wanted to recolor EA objects I enountered a problem, they simply will not appear in the directory.
I set my game path to C:\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin where my game is located, but for some reason none of the EA objects appear when clicking Object - Standalone recolor. I've tried reinstalling Sims4Studio, used both the beta and tested versions, updated everything, but still nothing, only the CC in the My Documents Mods folder that I manually place into the Sims4Studio Mods folder appears in the program. Do you have any advice? I can't move the game folder itself, because my game then refuses to start.

Hi celinde, the game path you have is too long. Take off the \Game\Bin part.

The .dds doesn´t work for but I looked at the package with the texture and seen that the lamp is half cutted where the beige part is. It´s hard to write a numer once at the lamp because it´s mirrored you know what I mean. I tried this with counters and get the same result. Paint a little bit with black or white on the texture, save it and see in S4S how it looks like and you find out maybe where you must draw you numbers. Hope it helps a little.

Hi dukemon, as MahoCreations has said, this lamp has the front face where your number is mapped as a mirror. What this means is that a single part of the map is applied to two parts of your item. The part I've indicated in red on the left below appears on your item in the place indicated on the right. If you want to use this item you will need to remap the front face so that it is not mirrored. I wrote a tutorial showing how to remove a mirror-type map from a rug and the principle is the same. Basically, you need to select the front faces of the item and remap them into a single unmirrored face on the map.

dukemon , the only way to fix that object so that the text isn't mirrored would be to edit the mesh. They way it is designed at the moment means that whatever you type will be flipped on the right as well. Ninja'd by OM

Why is everything so difficult? xD Well, I own only Photoshop CS2 (legal). And I have no knowledge about mapping and meshing. :s Thank you. I will do it, but earliest at weekend.

Hi dukemon, to re-map the item you will need Blender, which fortunately is a free tool so you won't have to pay for it. If you decide to give the re-map tutorial a try and run into questions let me know.

Hi celinde, the game path you have is too long. Take off the \Game\Bin part. Thanks! That fixed it. ♥

menaceman44 , I posted this as a mini-tut in this tutorial forum Hi Orangemittens, I'm trying to do just what menaceman44 described in his post so I need to see this mini-tut and I don't see where it is, can you give me the link please. Or if anyone else who know where that mini-tut is? Its a mini-tut about linking a single texture to all the swatches of a recolor and deleting the textures that are not used anymore within the warehouse.... arrgh! I dont know if its clear, english is not my language, but menaceman described it so well in this post : I'm currently in the process of recoluring the EA beds. Many may find this pointless due to the seperated mattresses and frames but I am creating recolours so all bedding and frame combinations are available on a per bed basis. As the double beds have frame textures seperate to the bedding textures, is there any method, in the Warehouse tab, to import a single frame texture and link it to all of the recolours in a package? At the moment I end up with four or five versions of the same texture which unecessarily increases the file size.

Hi Ann-Frederic, welcome to Studio forums. The tutorial is HERE. The illustrations and steps are a bit out of date as there have been improvements to Studio's Warehouse since it was written. If you run into questions using it let me know.

Oh thank you very much Orangemittens! I did everything like in the tutorial, but for me, the Delete button is unavalable, it's pale gray and I can't click it, for nothing, I can't delete anything from my package??? I tryied with a simple recolor of a basic ea object, same thing, my delete button doesn't work. I have version 2.7.1.1 of S4S, my game is updated to the latest patch, do you have an idea what can cause that?

I'm wondering if the new EP is messing with the creation of cc. I do everything the tutorials tell me and my game will not recognize my images. It will load my text but it puts the old question mark image for my images. I put them in png files. I can't do dds.
Please help!
