Apparently this error is typical for all custom objects made regardless of what tool is used. The team is still looking into the issue

Good day S4S studio team,
I've created my first package using S4S, but for the life of me I cannot find a tutorial on how to change the default thumbnail. I don't mean for the objects individually, but rather for the entire package.
When I change a package (recolor) using S4S and then open it in game, it still shows the picture of the EA object. For example: I changed EA's "Snug Rug" package to my rugs titled "Paisley and Panache" and though the buymode says "Paisley and Panache", the overall picture is still the "Snug Rug." The thumbnails inside the package are mine however.
Secondly I'd like to thank the entire team for an excellent product! This is my first time creating CC for any Sims game, and without this program, and all the tutorials, I would have given up on day one. (A speacial shout-out to you Orangemittens for so many how-tos--you saved my sim-life.)

I think we can't add a custom catalog thumbnail yet, but if you open the package in S4PE, you can delete any files you don't want in there (like THUM images). The game should generate a new thumbnail after that (you might have to clear the game's cache files first).

velvetsims, the game should generate a new catalog thumbnail for your item. If you're seeing the old one still there it is probably the case that you need to clear out your cache before starting the game up.
You won't need to open the .package up with s4pe to get that to happen because Studio is currently set up to allow the game to generate object thumbnails for you.

Hi trudie55, I'm not sure exactly what they mean by original EA variation so it's difficult to know how to help you with this. Is there somewhere they explain what this means?

I think it has to do with the DST image. When go to Warehouse of the image you change. Then the ea DST Image is still there, I can replace it but can't delete it but then there is 2 of the same DST images.

Sims 4 Studio makes a faithful clone of the EA item you select when you make a recolor. Many, if not all, EA objects have an extra image with associated code that has no immediately apparent purpose. It's difficult to know why EA objects have this, if it's necessary in some way to their function or will become so in future patches, or if EA plans to retain it in each object to the end of the Sims 4 series. This is the image you're seeing in the .packages. It is not harmful to the game to have it there, it's unclear what the ramifications of removing it would be, and so Studio's code clones it, renumbers it, and includes it. The item is game-safe and that is the goal of Studio...to allow the creation of game-safe custom content that will be stable through all the patches in the Sims 4 lifespan. Since all objects recolored with Studio have this and other people have successfully uploaded objects they recolored using Studio to TSR I have to suppose that this is not the issue. Since TSR doesn't inform Studio of their requirements it's very difficult for me to answer the question of exactly what the problem is. I think ultimately TSR's own staff can answer this more successfully than I can. In the meantime there is a thread discussing ways of sharing custom content for people new to making things for Sims 4...maybe this would help if TSR won't help you with getting your adorable objects uploaded there:

Thanks dear. I upload clothes with no problem before. I will ask them for more detail.

I make some carpets (rugs) And finely got it right. Its approved by TSR. I just import my own pattern on the ea pattern (DST image) and walla it was so easy as that.
