Hi, Is it possible to add more textures to an object like a plant ? I would like to check the effect of several textures of a plant in game but I can not put in more than 3. I tried adding 3 packages with 3 textures (3x3) but there is only one package displayed in game. Thank you.

I'm not sure what you mean by textures in the context of the question and the picture that you're showing. If you mean more than three swatch thumbnail colors we cannot do it. We tried having 4 swatch colors and it causes the game to crash if the item contains swatches with over three colors.
If that is not what you're referring to could you explain your question a little more?

passetagum, you can however make another recolor using another 3 of your textures and then "group" these two (or more) together so the object seems to have more swatches. You can use this tutorial to do it. :D

passetagum, if you want multiple swatches for your plant object be sure to go all the way back to the first screen and choose the Create Recolor button for each new .package of swatches. If you save one, copy it, rename it, and open the renamed one using My Projects you will only be able to use one of those .packages in your game at a time because they will overwrite one another.

You need to use BC3/DXT5.

I'm currently in the process of recoluring the EA beds. Many may find this pointless due to the seperated mattresses and frames but I am creating recolours so all bedding and frame combinations are available on a per bed basis. As the double beds have frame textures seperate to the bedding textures, is there any method, in the Warehouse tab, to import a single frame texture and link it to all of the recolours in a package? At the moment I end up with four or five versions of the same texture which unecessarily increases the file size.

The short answer is yes you can link a single frame texture to all the recolors in a .package using Studio's Warehouse. The issue you will run into is that Studio's Warehouse does not yet have a delete button for images. We've been holding off on adding one because once images are deleted from a .package it will no longer be accessible from the Studio tab with the current set up the code has. Given that so many projects need a delete button for images that will be added with the caveat that once you use it you won't be able to open the project on the Studio tab anymore unless you link everything up to one image correctly.
In the meantime, to continue the project you have underway, this is something that could be done using the Warehouse with s4pe to delete the extra images once you've linked them or with s4pe alone. Both methods will work assuming s4pe is able to compress your .package without breaking it. It has been breaking some .packages and I can't say for sure whether yours would come through unscathed. That's sort of a roll of the dice.
Doing this either way takes several steps. If you're still interested in knowing where the lines are that need to be changed in the Warehouse I can post up a few pictures. I haven't used s4pe in a while so your guess would be as good as mine where all the lines are if you go that route.

Being able to see would be most helpful. I'm more than happy to give it a go.
I already currently link the description and name data to that of the original objects so that I can delete the string table entries with s4pe, which I know will also prevent Studio from opening the package afterwards unless at least one STBL is added back into the package first.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you...the Studio update was taking up all my Sim time. The good news is Studio now has a delete button so you should be able to do the whole thing with one tool. I'll try to get some pics up soon to show where the lines are.
