Hi! So I'm having some trouble making bumpmaps/normalmaps. I've followed some tutorials, but I just can't seem to get it right! Whenever I import the bumpmap and test it ingame, either nothing happens - or it makes my sim character disappear in cas. The texture doesnt do anything to the garment in the sims 4 studio cas either... I've tried making my own + using this website... cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/ I'm kinda confused! I have some troubles changing it to a bumpmap in photoshop too for some reason I just want to do this right so I can make a good normal/bumpmap!! And also while I'm here! What is the best method for creating a good looking bumpmap with fabric? I'm not that good in photoshop, but I wanna make my tops look a little more alive then they currently do:P Edit: Okay so I tried a new method using the Nvidia texture thing, but my sim is still glowing in game?? ._. Hello, the normal map your sharing is mostly plain & doesn't have any detail in it that's why it doesn't show any difference in the model. Normal map is usually used to add detail like wrinkles or cloth fiber. If you want some detail you could maybe model the wrinkles in your 3d package or if you know how to use zbrush you can sculpt it using alpha. If you want cloth fiber you can google it, there's plenty of free one. One last thing, sims 4 bump map is a bit different from other bump map. Make sure you copy each channel correctly following the bump map tutorial in this forum. And don't forget the specular map too. Not everything needs a bump map. Sometimes you could just add detail from the diffuse texture itself like adding highlight & shadow, adding stitches & button.

Hi. Agreed with everything above, but want to specify that only the diffuse map can be previewed in s4s, other maps cannot be Also, I think you are saving the file with the wrong settings, so the alpha channel is not preserved and the body looks « shiny »

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep this in mind:) I'm not really used to making my normal maps manually, so thats why I'm kinda struggling!:S

It should be saved with interpolated alpha and generated mipmaps in old photoshop in new

I think I might know what the problem is, whenever I export the texture from photoshop - this comes up I can see that you have instead So yet again, I'm kinda confused edit: I feel so stupid bahahah, I just downloaded another plugin, I had the wrong one:P It works now!
