Hi all, I am fairly new to editing meshes in blender and have tried with no luck to google my issue (which I think is likely a rather small one). I am editing a mesh which came with a loosened tie accessory and simply trying to remove the tie. I have deleted that section the mesh but I am having trouble when it comes to closing the gaps correctly. I tried joining the vertices and also merging faces in separate attempts but it doesn't come out very clean.

Hello, I don't usually use Blender to edit my mesh but with a gap that big you should bridge the edges to create new faces where the gap is. If you just merge the vertex, the texture would be stretched. Try googling how to bridge edges in Blender.

Thanks so much! This helped me close the gap. Now I am just having some texture issues. I have updated the uv and texture images but i am still seeing the block I added.

Hey! You need to edit your uv map in space you closed this holes to create nice uv that follor texture smoothly, now what you closed takes texture from wrong places and this leads to blocky look. Now one face takes texture form one space and the other that is joined to it from different and they just do not match
