Okay so I did some more testing and was insanely happy when last night I used the "WinterIsHere" gate to Create a 3D Mesh (the single size gate that I have tried using it's footprint details from) and manually adjusted the ObjectPolygons Points instead of clicking on the Adjust Footprint button in S4Studio mesh tab.
That led me to believe I had my details correct and I did the same Create a 3D Mesh of the Woodn'tYouLiketoKnow double gate and manually edited the Bounds in my CutoutInfoTable and adjusted the ObjectPolygons Points (I'll share the options I have selected which I believe are what allows me to place the gate now).
How it displays in game
now - it shows the green squares or footprint as if it is the double gate despite me manually adjusting the Bounds and Footprint Point details.
I'm not sure how I can make the footprint smaller.
I set the LinkVersion to all zeros so that I could manually add the Footprint ObjectPolygons and points but it says in the Text tab "Linked":true - so unfortunately upon opening my project I don't have anything in the Footprint ObjectPolygons window. Is this to do with how I am opening my project as I wouldn't want to have to keep adjusting these details if I make changes to it in the future (especially since I am adding them manually).
relly0 - below are the details I used that allowed me to place my gate
Click on Warehouse tab
Click on "Footprint" and click on Data tab
Click on "Edit Items" next to ObjectPolygons
Mine had nothing listed so I clicked Add
Entered my Bounds - Max 0.612336,4.04334,0.062534 and Min -0.62549,0,-0.062534
Under "Flags" clicked Enabled, Pathing, Placement and changed the value to 00000007
Under "IntersectionFlags" clicked Columns, Fences, Sims and changed the value to 00000128
Under "IntersectionType" clicked Objects and changed the value to 00000004
Changed NameHash to A6D2504F
Added my points to PointList (in a similar order as explained by brujah on a post titled "sims-pass-gate-solved")
- -0.62549,-0.062534 = Min X, Min Z
- -0.62549,0.062534 = Min X, Max Z
- 0.612336,-0.062534 = Max X, Min Z
- 0.612336,0.062534 = Max X, Max Z
Changed the value to 00000003 for "SurfaceAttributeFlags"
Under "SurfaceTypeFlags" clicked Floor, Terrain and changed the value to 00000003
Still in the Editing ObjectPolygons... window, I clicked Add again
Entered my Bounds as above
Under "Flags" clicked Enabled, Placement and changed the value to 00000005
Under "IntersectionFlags" clicked ReservedSpace, Sims and changed the value to 00000208
Under "IntersectionType" clicked ReservedSpace and changed the value to 00000200
Changed NameHash to C666D620
Added my points to PointList - as the list above
Changed the value to 00000003 for "SurfaceAttributeFlags"
Under "SurfaceTypeFlags" clicked Floor, Terrain and changed the value to 00000003
