Hi! I know this thread has been created a million times but I can't find anything that has been useful to me besides mauvemorn's transferring and editing weights video and I can't get it to work either. I'm having trouble making the morph target and rig from blender work in MD, and when I import the avatar first instead of using a morph target, it just shows up as nothing :( I'm not sure if a blender file is needed for this but if it is then here

Hi. Did you enable subtitles? If i understood correctly, I mentioned this issue after another person had it. Basically, for the avatar to morph, the original and the imported one need to be identical. Since many people use downloaded avatar instead of making their own, they do not match. I highlighted some of the things that may have been done wrong - clone a swimsuit for men, export, open; - expand the rig, make the (real)head and feet selectable; - select the head, the swimsuit and the feet, File - Export - Wavefront (obj), enable Selection only; - open the md file, delete the avatar from the scene; - Avatar - Add, choose your obj, import it in meters; - back to blender, change the pose of the same mesh, export it the same way; - File - import, and so on
I would advise you to postpone finishing this project because the loose sleeves create you unnecessary obstacle on the learning path. You should learn the basics first. Unrelated to the addressed issue, you need to fix/ avoid the following: - do not add the borders along the seams of patterns in MD and export the garment as thin. These borders are very high poly yet will not be even seen in the game, so doing that serves no purpose; - do not shrink the uvs in uv_1 to fit the uv space. Once you transfer it from the reference, youre done; - do not scale uv islands individually in uv_1. It will lead to the differences in texture quality between the patterns; - everything covered by the clothing should be deleted, including other clothing. So just delete the portion of long sleeves covered by short sleeves

after you transfer the weights, the rig must be brought back to the original pose and its rest pose changed. Only once the outfit is in the t-pose again, you transfer uv_1

thank you! the only issue is, when I add the armature to my mesh it doesn’t really work properly so I’m not sure if I did something wrong

You did not change the rest pose of the rig. Also, you should have not rotated the arms freely, instead of changing one value you will need to adjust them all Rewatch the video carefully and do everything shown in it and nothing else
