Hi. The tutorial is correct, but there is a faster way - open the package with the custom hair, press Ctrl Shift C, paste studio.exportall . S4S will create a folder with the same name and export all thumbnails, textures in png and all blend files; - Tools - Color palette, choose Import palette; - return to the main menu in s4s, under CAS choose Override. Find the item you want to replace, Shift-click on it to select all swatches, click Next, select the custom package (you want it to have an identical name and be in the same place), click Save. It will ask you if you want to replace the package, say yes; - open the console again, enter studio.importall. Open Color palette again, Apply color palette to package. Save. Put the package in the mods folder Bear in mind that this will not work with alpha hair in most cases

The only issue I am having is the hair is still marked as cc once in game

My bad, I misunderstood what exactly you were asking about I think the game views everything from the mods folder as cc, regardless of what it is. You can install a mod that removes the wrench, but it will do it for everything edit: found the confirmation from the experienced modder sims4studio.com/post/149595/thread

I saw that the wrench is still there when I check it in game, which is fine on my screen I don't care. But when I go to save it to post to the gallery, it shows up with the wrench in the top corner. I haven't found a way around that yet. I have seen people lately be able to do that with hair defaults or eyelashes. They still have the wrench in CAS but not when uploading to the gallery. I just don't know how. Thank you again.

Not sure if I understand thenewmoe and mbsc2010 correctly but think I'm struggling with the same problem. I can make a hair override from CC to original base game hair (there are some great tutorials out there) but... when I share my sim with that hair on the gallery it will be flagged as CC and hidden. That's how it's supposed to work, I know, but like thenewmoe and mbsc2010 said there are sims with overrides on hair, eyes, eyebrows and also outfits that are not flagged as CC and hidden on the gallery. Very few creators knows how it's done and they are not sharing that information lol! I have found no tutorials for this and mods for removing the wrench only remove the wrench, the hair will still be flagged as CC on the gallery. So does anyone know how this is done? Any ideas? I downloaded a hair like this from one creator on Tumblr (marakiraz) and you put the package file in Mods as usual. For some reason the game doesn't flag this as CC on gallery or in CAS. I'm not new to using Blender or Sims 4 Studio but I have mostly made poses and been away from creating anything like this for the sims 4 for years so have forgotten a lot of the basics. Thanks for any help I can get with this.

I opened up that package file from Mariaraz (and a package file from Donnalux) in Sims 4 Studio and had a look at what was different from mine. So what I had to do is not copy over all cc-hair Blender files but only the first one LOD 0. LOD 1-3 will be from base game. Also under "Texture" and "Diffuse" I imported all the Swatch_Diffuse.png to Swatch 1, removed the rest of the swatches and saved the package file. Now this hair doesn't hide on gallery or has that wrench on uploaded image, only on hair image in CAS. I have only tried this one hair though but will be trying out more. Thank you so much for reply and for looking into it mauvemorn. Sims 4 Studio is a great tool and I'm looking forward to learning more

Of course this didn't work 100%, just saw it today. Hair (except hair color 1) is not flagged as CC on gallery but all textures from colors swatch 2 is messed up. I didn't add the Swatch_Diffuse.png so I see why but to me it looks like adding it will flag that color as CC but there might be other reasons I don't see. Opening the package file I downloaded from Tumblr showes only one swatch, swatch 1. Is there a way to merge all the swatches? Also it looks like just LOD 0 is copied over from CC hair, not LOD 1-3. Thank you again for any help with making the hair no CC but at the same time keep the texture for all colors. Tutorial I used for making override hair: batch-imports-exports-hair-override-tutorial
