hi, i'm trying to make a build & buy object, but every time i import the file from s4s, it just doesn't appear in blender. this means whenever i add my own mesh and then import it to s4s, both the original object and my object show up in the preview. i'm mostly familiar with blender, but not s4s, so i'm probably making an obvious mistake but can't seem to find a fix. thanks in advance!  alt link alt link alt linkhopefully these images work, i can't really figure out how to add them edit: forgot to include a pic of what s4s looks like after i import my object: link |

Hi. We need to check the blend and package files to know for certain, but you most likely did not structure your blend the same way the original was structured - find a similar maxis item, clone it, export the blend. In the scene there will be an object, one or two shadows, possibly more objects ( for glass, for example );
- append/import your object, select it, rename uv map to uv_0; - ignore uv_1, objects have the same uv_0 and uv_1 maps;
- in most cases the original object will have one or multiple vertex groups. You need to double-click on it to rename, Ctrl C to copy the name ( usually transformBone ), then create a new vertex group on your mesh, paste the name. If there is only one vertex group, switch to edit mode, select everything with A, and assign the whole mesh to it; - give the mesh the same cut number;
- you may need to adjust uv_0 if it was not square or rectangular;
- you may also need to vertex paint the mesh if it needs to light up; - you may need to adjust the meshgroups of shadow underneath the object in edit mode; - delete the reference, make sure all meshgroups are visible, save

Hi. We need to check the blend and package files to know for certain, but you most likely did not structure your blend the same way the original was structured i can't possibly be setting it up wrong, i literally just export the s4s mesh to blender and it just doesn't appear. the lighting and camera opens in blender, but that's it. Blend File A = I exported an s4s lamp mesh, the lamp did not appear in blender but i imported my own object mesh into it anyways just to see what would happen/if it would still work properly. Note that the original s4s lamp mesh is not there, I didn't delete it, it just didn't show up in blender. The lighting and camera is all still there. Blend File B: This is the ORIGINAL blend file that I got from s4s when I exported the lamp mesh from s4s. I did not change anything. The lighting and camera is still there, the object is missing. Package File C: The package file after importing Blend File A + a texture into s4s. onedrive |

We need access to download the files. Also, please include the package file from which you exported the lamp ( if it is cc)  You have the plugin,is able to import and see items in the catalog (or you dont and that lamp is cc?), so you should be able to export as well. If not, this is somehow package related However, just in case, share your paths in s4s settings, where s4s is installed in, if you have any other versions of blender (beside 2.79) |

There are multiple possible causes:
blender must not be installed in documents\downloads. Programs create folders there themselves for different purposes. Move it to program files as well, in the independent folder ( as in, not inside s4s or game folders)
You should un-sync onedrive from your documents, it causes all types of problems. Look up how to do this for your version of windows
After doing both, restart s4s and change paths to new locations. Then go to any catalog, clone any item and export its mesh to check
The most recent version of blender is not supported by s4s. The latest supported version is 3.3 and by beta version of s4s only. However, 2.79 that is specified in your path is supported, you just should not jump between it and 3+

Should I move blender to program files or documents/downloads?
I believe onedrive is uninstalled
I moved blender to my program files and corrected my paths and the same error is occurring, the object is just not showing up in blender (only the lighting and camera)
edit: I also moved it to my documents and tried it with that, still not working

blender must not be installed in documents\downloads. move it to program files again Onedrive is in your Sims 4 documents path, it is not deleted or un-synced: C:\Users\ihear\ Onedrive\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\. It must not be here After moving, did you change the paths? |

moved to program files, i do have onedrive uninstalled but the folder was still there for some reason so i deleted it and moved all those folders onto ihear, not sure if that was the right thing to do but oh well (i saw a tutorial saying to change the documents properties to "restore as default" but i didn't have that option in the properties). changed the path to the ihear>documents>ea>sims 4. i did change the path earlier to program files>blender. still doesn't work. at this point i'm thinking it must be a computer issue rather than an s4s issue but i don't know edit: i think i broke it. now i get this error when i launch s4s: Sims 4 Studio is unable to access a file or folder that it needs: "Sims 4 Studio\Logs" This is most likely caused by antivirus software running on your computer. To continue using Sims 4 Studio without this error, you will need to configure your antivirus software to allow Sims 4 Studio to access the files that it needs. you cant just move the folders like that, the paths arent magically updated. This may have broken some other programs and games
Ok, go into documents and delete sims 4 studio folder, then restart, specify new paths
