hey all
ive been trying for hours to get my custom pose to work in the game but it just keeps resetting to the default no matter what i do i saw someone in another thread say you have to add a keyframe but it wont let me, it just keeps saying theres no valid channels so im at a loss if someone can tell me how to fix this that would be cool ibb.co/s2nkxDnibb.co/XLh1rGjit wont let me embed screenshots or at least on my end i cant see them so i just put links

Hi, have you tried this tutorial?
Make sure to select the rig when saving.
Or you could try using this rigged sims to make posing easier.

hi, im sorry but i think you might have misunderstood my question? i already have a rig that ive put into the pose i want, blender wont let me add a keyframe and i dont know why. it just keeps throwing an error telling me i cant keyframe the skeleton for whatever reason, but wont tell me whats actually wrong

If you're using the basic TS4 rigs, when you've made your pose, do what's shown at around 9:15 in the first video (mark skeleton, press "i", LocRot, save pose).
Can be an idea to look through the video to make sure you haven't missed anything (there are a few jonts you shouldn't move, and possibly a couple small preparations before you start making the poses)
If you're using a different rig, check if there is something in addition you have to do to set a key (most likely not).

Do you have any file you can share? Usually it's just selecting the bone & pressing I then select LocRot like in Katverse video.

Can be an idea to look through the video to make sure you haven't missed anything (there are a few jonts you shouldn't move, and possibly a couple small preparations before you start making the poses) If you're using a different rig, check if there is something in addition you have to do to set a key (most likely not). pressing i is whats not working, nor are any other methods of inserting a keyframe i checked the video just in case but they did everything the same that i had (i even repeatedly paused to see EXACTLY what the settings were that i could see in the video, and made sure mine were as close as i could get), im just using the standard s4s rig so there's no reason it would be incompatible with anything the weirdest part is this is the first time ive had this issue, ive done s4s poses in the past and was able to insert keyframes just fine, this was only a problem after i updated and had to get a new version of blender (though this version is nearly identical to the one i use for other personal projects so it isn't that im unfamiliar with how blender works)
it almost just seems like its a blender issue itself so ill probably just take this to their forums and see if they can come up with anything, seems like the only thing i havent tried is using a different version but i know how s4s is with blender so im pretty sure that wont do anything helpful
ill still check back every once in awhile on the offchance anyone has a fix that seems to work for me but seems like i just need to go to a different site altogether, was wondering if maybe it was specifically a sims rig issue (like if there was a button or something i needed to press that i didnt know about) but i guess not, was worth a shot but no win this time

Hi, maybe you could check if the S4S plugin is pointing to your blender installation folder since you just change version.

Hi, maybe you could check if the S4S plugin is pointing to your blender installation folder since you just change version. i just got a new computer altogether and reinstalled everything at the same time, thats the only reason i updated at all tbh
its pointing to the right blender version, like i genuinely just think its a blender problem, not a sims problem

Which Blender version and which S4Studio version are you using?
If you're using the newest S4Studio version (beta - Aurora or Star, depending on OS), you can use a few variations of Blender (2.76-79, or 3+). You'll need this version of S4Studio to work with infant animations).
If you're using the community tested version, it's only compatible with 2.76-79 of Blender (and people have had issues with these S4S versions for a variety of reasons since they're no longer updated for the newest game versions/expansions).

im on aurora using blender 3.3, im familiar with s4s' compatibility and made sure i had the right blender version though i hate to mention it, but i think the original point of my question has been lost. the ONLY thing i am having trouble with is that blender will not let me insert keyframes. i can access the models, i can re-import my poses into s4s, i can save packages, everything works completely fine except for the keyframe issue

Can you take a picture of the error you're getting in Blender when you're trying to set a keyframe?
Did you check that the plugins for Blender were okay in Blender itself, since you've had to reinstall everything? Could be something there needs fixing and/or activating. Could also be something iffy with some other Blender plugins having to do with animation/keyframing. Might be worth a look.
You could also test to see if it works with one of the lower versions of Blender, like 2.76 (if you just want to test, I think you can get them as no-install versions, so they don't mess with the other installs, and so you can use multiple ones).
