I'm probably doing something very simple wrong, but I just cannot for the life of me figure out what despite struggles, so here I am! I was trying to shorten a dress, so I exported that mesh, and made it shorter. Then I grabbed the mesh of a dress that's around the same length as I wanted the first one, shortened the long one, and appended it on the file of the shorter one ( because that way there would actually be legs, you know? ) When joining the layers I made sure the 'new' dress was joined onto the layer of the 'old short' dress, since I remembered that ID things matter, especially since I used this short dress as a base to 'create a new 3D mesh' on. But despite that, when I want to import the mesh, it doesn't actually change to the new one in file. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix it? Did I simply pick the wrong dress to shorten / paste it on? Or is it a different mistake? Thank you! Hi. You most likely saved the file in a version of blender that has no plugin. What blender do you have, what version of s4s, and what does blender path in s4s settings look like? That said, you should not be importing your blend in any of these packages because it is not structured the same. ( this is not the cause of the mesh not importing) To understand how it should be structured, open 2 part.package, export the blend again, and open it. You will see 5 meshgroups: 2 meshgroups in the calf area ( for them to disappear when a sim wears tall boots, otherwise they might clip), 2 meshgroups in the upper arm area ( for sleeves to hide armbands, otherwise they will clip) and the rest of the body. Toggle the eye icon next to each to see what is wha To import your modified item into the same package, you would need to split yours the same way and assign corresponding cut number. However, you dont always have to do either. Does your item have sleeves that could clip into armbands? Yes, so it should be split the same way to hide armbands. But.... i do not know a single accessory that uses that regiontype and can actually be hidden by these sleeves. So if you want to do things right, you can split them. However, this is one of these examples where it is not necessary. May your item conflict with tall boots? Yeah, so it should be split in the calf area. However, generally maxis tall boots dont conflict with nude legs, only pants and skirts. So, again, you can but you do not have to do this. So you can make your item be made of only one meshgroup, but you need to clone a dress that also it like that. The dress is called Dresspanels. You can paste this name into a search bar in the catalogue, clone it, and import your blend there after you solve the plugin problem.
Edit: sorry, i forgot to mention something important ( not related to the problem) see how some faces are more opaque than the other? It means they overlap. When you combine two meshes, you need to first delete the area the other one will cover. So if you put a sweater over a dress, you need to delete the area of the dress the sweater will cover
