I'm fairly new to Sims 4 modding, but I've been in software development for about a dozen years.
I'm currently converting some adult Sim animations to work with different ages. The problem is some of the clips have effects and actors/props other than the Sim rigs, and when I import the clips back into S4S, those properties are gone. The modified animations play fine in game, but the Sims aren't holding anything anymore. It seems to happen even when reimporting the clip without editing it at all.
Is there a way to re-add the missing props/effects to the animation?

One thing that always worked for me is to find the original clip through clips and clip header and add them to your pose pack, Save and reopen your package file, then import your clip and it should keep all the events of the original animation. I have not done it using the beta version of s4s but I imagine it should still work.

That worked!! It's a bit of a pain since I am converting a lot of animations, but it's 50x better than manually editing the events and slots one at a time.
A "copy clip metadata" function would be really useful for these conversions. It would also be nice if clips could be named something other than creatorname_timestamp_posepack_xxx, apparently I can't remove clips I messed up without it renumbering everything and breaking the ASMs I've already created.
