I'm trying to update an unsupported set of default eyes.
I've exported the textures as DDS files and have tried importing them to a new package file and I get an error message that says "Your texture must be saved as a PNG or an uncompressed DDS B8G8R8A8 (Linear, A8R8G8B8) with mip maps". So I decided I'd export these textures as pngs and save them as DDS myself (making sure Generate Mip Maps is on), and I still get this error. Importing a PNG works fine, however I'd like to solve the DDS file issue for future content creation.

Hi. you need to save it like this. This way the dds is uncompressed If I’m not mistaken, there is a batch fix for eyes that you can use That said, there is no need to use dds at all, no matter what you are making.

Thank you! At some point a few years ago while following a guide I read that DDS files were the best to use for CAS content, but I can't remember the reason. Sticking to png would be so much easier so if I don't really need to save as DDS then I'll quit doing so.
As far as the batch fix goes I wanted to learn to make them myself so that's why I didn't go that route.

Technically, no. Only color slider compatible content uses uncompressed dds, other uses compressed. So when you export the image and every time you save it, it becomes worse (because of compression). Png is also easier to handle.
