So I have been importing my sims into blender for quite a while by using the sims 4 ripper and I have always noticed that its better to import my sims into blender with short hair and not long hair. I don't mind short hair because my sims looks great with short hair... But they also look great with long hair as well.
However, my long hair sims comes out looking like the image below... :upset
I found a way to fix the issue in Blender but its going to take a few minutes or longer to fix the issue. However, that's not what this thread here is about. Its really about trying to fix the hair before importing my sims to Blender. Like what's the main cause of the issue that makes the hair turn out like this when importing the sims into Blender? why is it easy to just to import sims with short here but not long hair. Like I actually really want to try and fix the issue but I just don't know on whether its the hair mesh itself or is it possibly the sims 4 ripper?
I honestly just don't know what causes the hair to turn out like that on Blender, its clearly perfectly fine in the sims and the hair is fine to import to blender when its short... But if it's long hair, it just comes out not the way anyone would hope it would. But I am willing to start doing experiments just to find the cause. Like creating a new long hair style mesh or something and then importing it into blender just to see for myself... Any tips on where and how to get started on creating Sims 4 custom content though? I am very new to this and am willing to put in the work. Just need to know what programs are used when creating clothes, hair and so on... I'll check out whatever is recommended.
Also, if anyone have any thoughts on what could be the cause of the issue, feel free to hit me with some feedback! Sometimes its better to have more then one head trying to figure this out. I can't be the only one importing my sims to Blender
There is a link below to Blender-stackexchange showing how I fixed the issue step by step making the long hair look nice and normal without having these dark shadow boxes in the hair of our sims. Let me know if its helpful or not. Might have to make a video tutorial on how's it's done.
