Hello, I am a very new beginner to Blender. So far in my learning journey I have been able to successfully Frankenmesh a top and a bottom together that functioned well in game, as I was able to figure out the uv_0 and uv_1 maps with tutorial. Now I wanted to try sunglasses, so here is what I did:
- I used the ice cream sunglasses from High School Years as a base. I removed the cute shapes so I was only left with the heart frames.
- Appended the heart earrings from Seasons, removed everything but the small heart in the middle
- Scaled the heart from the earrings to my liking and added duplicates and moved them all around until I got little hearts all around the frames of the glasses. Each side of the frame has 18 little hearts (see here).
- The texture is all done, I have all the swatches done. It looks great in Blender and S4S. The problem is, when I put them on my Sim in CAS....
The glasses move properly with the face sliders, except for the hearts I added from the earrings. They stay in place and don't move, so they only work on certain face shapes (see here). Making the head bigger or smaller totally messes it up.
From what feels like hours of scavenging forums and tutorials, I'm assuming the problem is with the uv_1 map. So far I haven't done any editing to the uv_1 map.
I have a very very basic understanding of the UV_1 map's purpose (although please feel free to elaborate in toddler language because I likely need more help than I think), like I said I've been able to properly mesh together a top and a bottom and have successfully closed all the gaps in the uv_1 map on those projects.
This is where I'm lost. Since I duplicated all those hearts I don't know where to go from here. How do I fix the uv_1 map to get those hearts to stay attached to the glasses frames and move around properly with the sliders? Right now it looks like the vertices for every heart are directly on op of each other on the map (see here).
