Hi all, I have a problem with recoloring hair that i just cant find a solution to :-( . I have created recolors for all basegame hairs for children and adults and they are also working for me. But when i age a adult sim down in cas the hair color changes to a different one (from my new color set), but when aging the same sim up again the color stays the same. The color it changes to is also not consisten, sometimes blue changes to red, sometimes to green and so on. I cant find what the issue is here, the sec index is the same for all hairs for all ages (200 and above) and no color has the same number. The thumbnails are also the same for all hairs and ages. Edit: i tried to add some images, but i cant seem to add them...

Hi. Are the hex codes of swatches the same as well?

(I know this is slightly derailing and I apologize -- I hope it's a simple fix! Re your comment, mauvemorn, is this something you can MAKE it do -- say you wanted the same hair in CAS to switch from a normal color as a teen to dyed as a young adult or have early grey streaks when aging from YA to adult -- can you change the swatch itself? Can that be done but only at "official" differences [eg, adult vs child but not elder vs adult] or the opposite? That would be an AWESOME thing to know.)

Logically, you could create two swatches with the same swatch color and color tag, then restrict one for young adult and another for teens, but once you do that for young adult age group, the whole item does not appear for them.
You could create a mod that gives certain sims a hidden trait that forces the hair change from one swatch to another, but i cannot help with that, unfortunately

No problem -- thanks so much for trying this out! I just wasn't sure from the wording if that was something that could accidentally (and ...therefore accidentally-on-purpose) happen at all! I sort of figured that if you started messing with a CAS object within the "T-E" age groups it'd mess something up somewhere, but I super appreciate you checking :D I know mods like the one (forgetting the name) Kuttoe has for natural hair growth/haircuts must be able to force certain CAS asset/swatches on and off so I'm guessing you're right about the trait, but I haven't really dived far enough into mod-making to know exactly what you'd need to do, just come up with a lot of weird things I'd LIKE to do :P Hope franzikra gets the weird randomized colors sorted! No pun intended.
