Hello everyone, I am new to the CC creating world, so this is most likely a really silly mistake on my part. I have been learning how to switch a right wrist accessory into a left wrist accessory. It has been a struggle, but I have learned how to do the mesh, texture, and I learned about UV mapping and shadows also. I did try to adjust the shadow using EA's default UV map and it did go to the other wrist (mesh is not currently just for visibility's sake) but there's a black frame around it. Does anyone know why this is or how to fix it? Did I place the shadow on the UV map incorrectly? Is there a good way to know where to put it if that is the case? Hi. The right and the left sides of the body behave differently, so when you flip something, you need to re-do almost everything. In the shared files, not everything you mentioned is modified, so i will go through everything - mesh is flipped in edit mode ( as it should be); - weights are renamed correctly; - using the template, move uvs in uv_0 in the space meant for the left bracelet. Select uvs, UV - Export uv layout. You will use it to edit the textures - in uv_1 change the pivot to cursor, select all uvs with A, UV - Mirror - X axis - vertex paint is the only thing that stays the same - save, import in the package - export all textures. Diffuse and specular are pretty straightforward to edit, just place the uv layout and move the texture. For the normal map, the layout needs to be cropped or moved down. With shadow map, though, you need to place the template, not the uv layout, flip it and move in the right spot ( presumably already done)
As for the frame, this is a bug that existed in the community tested version of s4s. Happened when you imported the shadow map in png. You should install the beta one or make a map in dds
