i've seen this issue a few times on the forum but i've never seen a solution...
when i try creating a mesh for pants that has more than one cut, there are always shading issues at the seams between the cuts in the game. this happens even if i just export and reimport an ea mesh into a package without making any changes.
these are the pants i'm currently working on, and as usual the shading issues are present

Hi. The left and the right side of the body behave differently, so when you mirror something, you need to re-do all the data that should differ between the two as well - enable sync, in uv_0 select these uv islands; - in uv_1 change pivot to 2d cursor, UV - Mirror - X axis

i've fixed the uv_0 map as you recommended but the shading issues along the edges of the cuts on both legs of the pants persist. Is there anything else i can do? here are the new blend and package files

Hm, i think this is a s4s bug because I’ve only recently started seeing it and usually in different situations This happens when multiple vertices share the same coordinates, which is normal… but apparently not in this specific case (vertices with different normals?). To fix this, you need to move these vertices just a little bit away. Select the inner side of pants, press Alt S and move it just a tiny bit Could you please not delete the files, I’ll share them with the developers

thanks for your help! should i move the vertices on the uv_0 or move the vertices of the mesh in 3d space?
if you're sharing the files with the developers i would just like to add that i've had this issue with some dresses and all pants i've tried to make (that have multiple cuts in the leg region) in all versions of s4s since at least 2021.

mauvemorn, I also faced similar issue, it's a pretty old bug. I can just export mesh from some cloned EA clothing or object and then import it back without any changes and after that I may get such shiny artefacts on clothing like shown above or even the whole object appearance may change (for example glass object may become more glossy). I can give the examples if needed. I saw andrew has already answered about this but I just wanted to say it's a very annoying thing I would really like to be fixed.

This was what happened with my Chaps for Kids. I actually came here because I'm having this issue on every mesh I import, even for things I haven't touched. I'm sorry this is affecting people, but at the same time, I'm glad it's not just me. mauvemorn as for it being an old issue, I've only recently started having this problem with the linked post you replied to. It's happening to any mesh I import with cuts, even if the cuts were never touched or altered in any way, and you can see on the studio model where it will happen. I hope there is a fix for this soon, making CC for community use with this sort of issue isn't feasible.

nougatpocket may I ask what Blender version you're using? I have this same issue and I use 2.70 still (works the best on my laptop). Maybe it has something to do with the version of Blender we're using?
