xml injector/ custom tuning help...

I am trying to apply the upgrade crib option to al my toddler beds. I extract the tuning from the blandco toddler bed and make the proper changes and apply it to a different toddler bed but when I go into the game with my modded object, everything seems okay. However once my sim completes the upgrade the toddler bed remains with no options to upgrade to a crib The crib doesn't appear. The only time the action works is if I override the original object. That is not what I want. I want the tuning to work on all my beds. I also want to try and change which crib appears when the toddler bed is upgraded. I have read the read me file about xml injector but I am confused by what to type where in the command codes, in order to customize interactions. I have downloaded other people modded objects to try and see if I can compare when things go. However they use custom names and numbers so that hasn't helped. I would really love to learn how to do this. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I have watch videos on youtube but it seems like they skip steps in the process. I tried to follow along and do what they do at the same time but they skip steps.
