Hi. We would need to see the package to know for sure. Most likely the alpha channel of the normal map was not preserved. Try removing this map and checking again. If the issue will be solved, make sure you're saving dds as BC3 ( or DXT5 in older versions)

yes, the alpha channel was not preserved. Remake the normal map while saving it with correct settings as mentioned above The whole skirt is assigned to b__L_Thigh__. You most likely set up the weight transfer tool incorrectly Also, when youre making a skirt, transfer weights, uv_1 and vertex paint from a skirt, not nude legs And, for future, in MD make clothing in quads, not tris, it will look and behave better

If the alpha channel is already lost, then yes, you need to remake

Well, there’s this one I found by googling, but it looks very long waxesnostalgic.tumblr.com/post/643036158624956417/making-normal-channels-in-gimp-with-njob/ampI would advice you to use Photopea instead of gimp because it is free, online and almost identical to photoshop, so you will be able to follow any photoshop tutorial Here’s how to make a normal map in png in photopea/photoshop - export the original in png, mentally compare it to the uv layout. With clothing, it generally is square and contains the lower half of the uv space; - if you were to convert the transparency to layer mask and sample the backgrounds in Layer and Layer mask, youd get 848484 in Layer and 999999 in the mask;
- if making the normal map from the diffuse, do it in whatever way is possible ( in photoshop,Filter - 3D - Generate normal map); - crop the image either with Image - canvas size or with the crop tool
- select everything with Ctrl A, switch to Channels, select the green channel, Ctrl C, select RGB again; - switch to Layers, add a new fill layer with 848484 color;
- in Photopea just paste with Ctrl V, in Photoshop Edit - Paste special - Paste in place; - merge these two layers and hide the resulting layer; - copy the red channel, unhide and select the new layer, add a mask, select the mask, Edit - Fill, choose Custom, enter 999999, paste the red channel; - delete the original blue normal map, save/export as png
