Specular map of CC interferes with that of another CC

Hi, the specular mask needs to be fix.
On the necklace, there are white part on the earring area & the hair area. Fill that part with black, only leaving the white mask for necklace area.
Same for the earring there's white part on the hair area that's not needed.
When making specular mask make sure the white area is only on the part your making (for necklace only put white mask on the necklace area) & don't paint outside the assigned area (the necklace specular & mask seems to bleed out to the glasses area a bit).

The resolution for the specular is also too big, the specular resolution is usually half of the resolution for diffuse (in this case 1024x2048).
I never use HD texture so I might be wrong, maybe someone else can verify this.
Lastly the polycount for both the necklace & earring is very high, the necklace is 10x the polycount of any maxis full body outfit. If you're planning to share with others you might want to lower the polycount to around 2000 poly (check maxis necklace & see how much poly they use) so it doesn't affect the game performance.

Hi. Yes, the earrings are WAY too high poly. Unfortunately, the topology will make reducing the polycount difficult. There aren't very many complete edge loops; many of them are broken up. You can use the decimate modifier but it'll wreck the topology even more than it already is.

And the way the mesh is UV unwrapped will cause weird sharp edges throughout your mesh. Sharp edges in a mesh are dictated by the location of the edges of your UV islands. It's best to place seams where you want to have sharp edges or at least where you can hide the sharp edges that will inevitably appear. Why will they appear? Because Studio will split the mesh where the UV islands' edges are located. Removing doubles won't prevent this, either.

Turn tris to quads. This means fewer edges to deal with:
* select the earrings
* edit mode
* press A to select everything
* alt + J (Please note this doesn't always give good results)
* in the little window in the lower left corner put a checkmark next to "compare UVs." This will preserve your UV layout.

Remove doubles to make edge selection easier:
* edit mode
* press A
* M > by distance.
* If using an older version of Blender use W > remove doubles, instead.

Dissolve edges to reduce polycount:
* Hold alt + shift
* select unnecesarry edges.
* X > dissolve edges.

You can dissolve a lot of edges without affecting the shape of the mesh. You can select edges in the 3D viewport or in the UV editor. If you select edges in the UV editor, enable sync first, then alt + shift, select edges, X > dissolve edges.

Add seams back in:
* In the UV editor press A
* UV > seams from islands

Your seams will appear red in your mesh and now you can see where Studio will introduce sharp edges.

In all honesty, if this were my project, I would dissolve edges where the topology is clean and retopologize areas where the topology is messy so that you have a clean, low poly mesh. Afterward, I'd mark the seams where they won't show, and re-unwrap the mesh.



You can bake a new diffuse from your old diffuse. This shows how to do it in lower versions of Blender. I don't know how to do this (yet) with newer versions of Blender. I summarized the process in sims4studio.com/post/163460/thread 



The necklace is way too high poly, as well, but the seams placement is better.
