so, im trying to make 2 CAS items with 2 .pak's. both are similar items, but both refitted within blender for the opposing genders, both the meshes work in game perfectly for their respectful gender. so you think with 2 deferent pak's they shouldn't have issues with each other right?
weeeeell.
the .pak's keep overwriting each other. either one or the other shows up in cas on launch, they both have deferent .blend's named differently, their .pak files are named differently and i even changed their instance names [>diffuse map], i've made sure i had the right blend in their mesh, ive made sure they were in the mods folder, everything but nothing so far has seemed to fix this, the models as it is have alot of custom swatches since i made the female version before the male version.
so is there anything that can be done to prevent them from overwriting each other? any text or data in the warehouse? this has been driving me crazy all day.

Did you start a new project to make a new package file for the male file?
It's not enough to just rename a file and continue working with it as if it's a new file. It's going to act as if it's a copy of the other file, and one will overwrite the other ingame.
There are ways to clone the file so you don't have to import all the swatches into the new file, and I think it's also possible to batch-import swatches now, so there are options if it's all the swatches you're worried about.

Hi. When you choose Create standalone/Create 3d mesh option, choose an existing maxis/cc item, create a new package out of it, this is called cloning. So what you need to do is simply start a new package from a maxis item. It is not a good idea to start from an item for a different gender, since they have different rigs
