That looks more like lines from the mesh. More often than not happens if the smoothed flat part of the mesh isn't entirely flat, especially if there are multiple long pointy faces radiating from one point.
The mesh seems to have been rotated slightly, so it sits at a slight angle, and most of the mesh seems to be slightly off a 90 degree. It's possible straightening it up could fix the issue (a flat mesh usually won't trigger the smoothing issues), but no guarantees.
One way to fix it: - Rotate the mesh so it sits as near to straight line along the Front view as possible (zoom in close - the straighter you get it, the better the result will be for the finished result) - use the Top/left/front view in Orthographic projection - Mark lines of vertices that should be aligned with each other, and do S+(X/Y/Z depending on axis)+0 to align the vertices in that view. They should just straighten up. If they align into one point, it's the wrong axis for those vertices.
You'll have to switch view to see if you've got all of them, or if you've marked anything wrong, but this one seemed to be fairly easy - just make sure you take it layer by layer, especially in the back.
