Can't import mesh at any lods higher than 0 (pants)

So, this isn't actually about anything I made. I hope this is allowed here (since I wasn't sure where else to get help with this), but I downloaded these pants from another creator and I really like them, but they're missing all lower LODs. However, when I try to import the mesh into these lower lods in s4s, nothing shows up. I've tried changing the cut numbers but they still don't import? I don't know much about making cc either so it might be something obvious. Also, just to clarify, I only want to modify them for my personal use only.
